A major part of the design brief that Director Ricky He, and talent Mar Emanuel brought forward to me, was the balance of the physical commotion surrounding Mar at the Dance Hall contrasting his own solitude and longing to perform. By having to work in the place that he wishes to excel at, Mar's character eventually builds himself up and performs on stage.

My personal design process includes countless hours of research into the time, place and visual emotion we want to create. The main dance hall space is encompassed, with the warm tones of the late 60s; from each prop that the background actors hold, to the posters on the wall, we wanted to capture a fantasy of yearning that still had roots in temporal reality.
